Mass Effect 2 (2010)

Reequipping

Posting has been somewhat hamstrung. For one, I've upgraded my phone and camera hardware. The other blocker has been an overhaul of my photo preprocessor.

At long last I upgraded from the D700 (c. 2007) to the D850 (c. 2017). While I just bought a new hard drive, I'm not sure my storage is ready for 100mb tifs, 20mb jpgs, and 50mb raws. I think I'll be modifying my photo process to store jpgs below full res and going back to raws for anything non-web.

Dialogue

Huh, no posts about covid in months.

Now I'll bang out a quick synopsis since I'm going to look on this ten years from now and chuckle/cry.

Vague timeline:

The hot spots seem to be Florida, Texas, and Poway.

Perils

Let's start with the hardest-hitting item. Costco has a $200 handle of baijiu. I'm not sure if it's more shocking that someone decided bamboo liquor was worth importing or that there is a baijiu that costs more than 8 yuan.

The Afghanistan thing happened and gave us the some bizarre scenes (Taliban bumper cars) and morbid scenes (Kabul and airport).

The market finally had a red week and there was talk of taper. So guaranteed ATHs next week.

J's top ten video games

As avid historians of video games, J and I have a pretty good depth and breadth of experiences. This'll be my first attempt at a list feature [l], written in 2019 but backdated to 2017 when he actually authored the list. Also it's actually a top eleven due to a last-minute addition/re-think.

The list demonstrates a pretty good breadth of experiences, I like that it covers the sandboxes, the RPGs, the cinematic games on rails, and of course the MMOFPSRPGs.

Transitions

I'm rolling right into a second playthrough of Mass Effect 2. The first run was a bit hasty so I could use the finish bonuses for the second, real effort.

Precedents

I finished drywalling the 6x4 loft made accessible by the closet removal. It still needs to be patched, textured, and painted, but that's a breeze. What will it be? Storage space? Cat flat? Panic room?

I patched a couple areas on the lower terrace where the stucco had bubbled. Doing stucco sucks, so I gave thin set a try. The front wall had a couple spots where paint had peeled off, so I took care of that.
