J's top ten video games

As avid historians of video games, J and I have a pretty good depth and breadth of experiences. This'll be my first attempt at a list feature [l], written in 2019 but backdated to 2017 when he actually authored the list. Also it's actually a top eleven due to a last-minute addition/re-think.

The list demonstrates a pretty good breadth of experiences, I like that it covers the sandboxes, the RPGs, the cinematic games on rails, and of course the MMOFPSRPGs.

Horizons

Two work trips this month. Luckily, there's Fire Emblem Fates, Liar's Dice, and some awesomely-named beers.

For Jes's bday we did an AirBnB out near Barona. The views were pretty epic and the property had dogs, goats, horses, and a pig.

Long travel weeks have meant r&r in the man cave. Luckily, ME:A came out this month. Some thoughts...

Roaming

Between the Jeffsea xmas sweater party and being recruited to photo a couple of Christmas cards, seasonal garb has been in full effect.

Derrick +1ed me to the Good Beer Company holiday shindig. They primarily do sours and saisons, but had some other stuff on tap.

Idaho has been cold. Like down to 2-fahrenheit cold. Didn't stop Shane from grilling up some sausages though. It also helps to be killing it on the project and thereby having a hefty dinner budget.

Disguised

This year's Cooley Halloween party was preceded by the first League of Sport costume badminton.

Both events worked out well, Alfonso won best costume.

Friendsgiving was in Vegas.

Sunday was the annual Pilgrims-Indians Turkey Bowl. After stumbling early, the Pilgrims won it on many, many Saam picks.

Warframe has opened up quite a bit for me and J. I've added Wukong, Nekros, Oberon, Frost, and Mirage to the stable. We both got Nova Prime just before it went into the vault.

Civilizing

I'm just over a week/4000 years into Civ VI. It's about what you'd expect - iterative improvements over its predecessor. Here's the downlow:

"WTF sacrilege! Witcher 3 is an epic!"
...
That said, the world of Witcher 3 is gorgeous.
