Warframe (2013)

I've gotten a few Warframe sessions in, it's really good for when you have just a few minutes for gaming. I finally built Mirage Prime and Hydroid Prime. Also I pulled my first Legendary Core sortie reward.

As we've done for some years now, J and I played a bit of Warframe between main games. It works out pretty well considering the pretty constant development that the game undergoes.

I finally finished the Octavia storyline. The finale was clever but rather frustrating. Jumping puzzles are fair game in Warframe, but can still be rather painful.

For those short sessions, there's still running the Warframe sorties. I've had a lot of fun with Banshee Prime. The Harrow quest was frightening but kind of meh.

As avid historians of video games, J and I have a pretty good depth and breadth of experiences. This'll be my first attempt at a list feature [l], written in 2019 but backdated to 2017 when he actually authored the list. Also it's actually a top eleven due to a last-minute addition/re-think.
The list demonstrates a pretty good breadth of experiences, I like that it covers the sandboxes, the RPGs, the cinematic games on rails, and of course the MMOFPSRPGs.

I did pop down to J's house for some K'nex, Old Ox, Warframe, and...

The big Warframe update dropped - an open world area and tons of gear to go with it. It's great to get out of the narrow confines of their classic play mode - especially given my affinity for the Kulstar.

My Vauban Prime warframe is going strong, with Ash Prime in the pipe and some Riven mods coming up with each new battle rank.

Remarkably, I met my first Warframe troll. It was pretty skillful actually, he was able to forcefully portal people in front of the Orokin defense lasers and drop them. Once I caught on it wasn't too hard to avoid, but it was not easy to get back at him, except for letting the mission fail.

However you cut it, Warframe can be a very pretty game.

Between the Jeffsea xmas sweater party and being recruited to photo a couple of Christmas cards, seasonal garb has been in full effect.
Derrick +1ed me to the Good Beer Company holiday shindig. They primarily do sours and saisons, but had some other stuff on tap.
Idaho has been cold. Like down to 2-fahrenheit cold. Didn't stop Shane from grilling up some sausages though. It also helps to be killing it on the project and thereby having a hefty dinner budget.

Warframe has opened up quite a bit for me and J. I've added Wukong, Nekros, Oberon, Frost, and Mirage to the stable. We both got Nova Prime just before it went into the vault.

Digital Extremes keeps kicking down new stuff for Warframe. It's nice to see.

I finally have my first prime warframe. Happy that it's Nyx (the mind control warframe). My first prime melee weapon, Orthos, is ready as well, though I have yet to take it for a spin.

Warframe seems to just keep on giving. Word is there's a Tenno rocket league coming out soon. Less ambitiously, a new boss battle appeared last week. I've run into a couple crazy (and dominant) abilities, including a teammate with four sentinel-looking dudes wrecking stuff for him. And there was an tentacley AOE that was extremely useful in defending cryopods.

Since J was on vacation - meaning Warframe just wouldn't be as fun - I decided to try the PS+ May game. It turned out to be one that I had considered before finally settling on Cities: Skylines.

J and I have played a bit more Warframe. There were a few things I knew I was working toward:

There were three starter warframes, J chose Excalibur so I went with a Mag. Each warframe has four unique special abilities.
